 1. What is the Positive Training point of difference?

Positive Training delivers specialised food service training for quick-service food retail businesses and franchises. We understand your service requirements, and the fact that you want reliable, consistent trainers with significant food retail experience to train your team.

 2. How are our trainers different?

Positive Training provides trainers that truly understand the food service retail environment. Our people are leaders, and typically have owned and operated their own food service business, so they understand all aspects of the retail landscape. We treat your staff like our own.

 3. How do I know I’m getting 'best practice’?

Positive Training is routinely audited internally and externally to ensure the highest standards by the Victorian Regulations and Qualifications Authority (VRQA). A key aspect of the audits is to demonstrate systematic continuous improvement, ensuring your business receives ‘best practice’

 4. How much will the training cost?

Positive Training delivers Retail traineeships to your staff, and eligible staff will attract funding from the State & Federal Government. The net effect is that our training is cashflow positive, meaning you will not be out of pocket, guaranteed. Our policy is – ‘No Eligibility, No Fee’.

 5. How do I measure the training benefit?

Happy customers are good business. Our training outcomes are very customer service oriented, ensuring your customer’s expectations are exceeded. The benefits are measured in bottom line results.

 7. More than 60% of traineeships commenced are never completed. How does Positive Training compare to the national average?

According to the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER), Australia's principal provider of vocational education and training (VET) research and statistics, the industry average for completion rates of traineeships is only 40%. Positive Training boasts one of the highest completion rates nationally with a completion rate of over 80% (twice the national average).

 8. Some training companies take 18 months to complete. How long does it take Positive Training to complete a Certificate III level qualification?

Typically these are completed in 7 months.

 9. Do I need to pay anything up front?

No. With Positive Training you are only invoiced AFTER you become eligible for your funding from the Government. This is what we mean when we say 'cashflow positive training'.

10. What industry experience do your trainer’s have?

Our trainers and assessors have recent, relevant industry experience within the last 2 years, attend regular professional development courses and participate in professional and/or industry networks.

11. Who is responsible for staff attendance at the training sessions?

We are accountable for staff attending training. We book the training and provide regular reminders so that staff attend. A reminder two days in advance reassures and reminds the trainee of the upcoming session.

12. What standards does a training organisation have to meet to be able to deliver training to my staff?

Registered Training Organisations (RTO’s) must meet rigorous standards set down by the governing body in each state and territory and must undertake regular internal and external auditing and continuous improvement programs.

13. Will the training be challenging enough for my staff?

We haven’t yet met a student we can’t challenge. Our trainers are the best in the industry and get the best out of your staff.

14. Will you help me to complete the paperwork?

Yes, of course, we are very skilled at completing the required paperwork and are more than happy help you to complete the paperwork so you can get your Government incentives on time.

15. Can I choose when the training is delivered?

Structured training sessions should be conducted exactly when it suits you and your team, not the trainer and training company. Every business has different trading patterns and you have the final say on when training is delivered. Our trainers are flexible with their training times and available between the hours of 8am and 10pm all 7 days of the week.

16. Is the training conducted at my workplace?

Yes, all training and assessment is delivered at your place of work, unless you would prefer the training and assessment is conducted off site. We can provide solutions for either situation.

17. Is there any homework?

No. So long as the staff attend all the structured training and assessment sessions there is no homework. All course work and assessment is completed on site with your trainer/assessor.

18. Where are the trainers based?

Positive Training is a national company using local trainers. Distance has a direct impact on reliability, so local trainers are more flexible, reliable and punctual.

19. What if I have a staff member with special needs or a disability?

Reasonable adjustment can be provided for students with a disability or learning difficulty according to the nature of the disability or difficulty. Reasonable adjustments can be made to ensure that the student is not presented with artificial barriers to demonstrating achievement in the program of study. Reasonable adjustments may include the use of adaptive technology, educational support, and alternative methods of assessment such as oral assessment.

20. Should I pay my staff to attend training?

There is a requirement for an employer to pay employees for time that is allocated to structured training within the workplace. Apart for the compliance issue, staff will be more willing to attend structured training session if they do so during rostered and paid time periods. The payroll cost of a staff attending training is substantially less that the cost-positive outcome of the Government incentives and is therefore a strategy worth employing.
